Sundial 2
A New Future for a Condominium Surrounded by Greenery
Imagine a residential complex overlooking a private park of over 2000 sqm, where children play carefree and adults can relax, immersed in the tranquility of the Villazzano hill in Trento. This is where Meridiana 2 stands, a terraced condominium consisting of 10 apartments spread across 5 buildings, each with loggias and balconies opening onto a breathtaking view of the surrounding greenery. Built at the end of the 1970s, the complex showed the signs of time: perimeter walls made of brick, uninsulated roofs, and outdated autonomous systems that generated high consumption and living comfort far from modern standards. However, with the opportunity of the Superbonus 110%, Meridiana 2 found new life thanks to an energy requalification intervention that transformed the entire complex into an example of sustainability and innovation.
An Intervention that Rethinks Comfort and Efficiency
The project addressed every critical aspect of the complex, aiming to improve both aesthetics and energy performance:
- External thermal insulation: applied to the perimeter walls with 16 cm EPS panels, ensuring thermal insulation and eliminating energy losses.
- Roof refurbishment: the new 20 cm EPS insulation isolates the concrete slab, offering unprecedented thermal protection.
- Window replacement: wood-aluminum frames with triple glazing and low emissivity improve thermal and acoustic insulation, reducing noise from the outside and between different housing units.
- Advanced technological systems:
- Heat pumps for heating and domestic hot water, replacing old autonomous boilers.
- 7 kW photovoltaic panels for each apartment, allowing full utilization of solar energy.
- Charging stations for electric vehicles, ready to support increasingly sustainable mobility.
Certifications and Living Comfort
Thanks to the intervention, Meridiana 2 has achieved high standards of energy efficiency and living comfort.
- Energy Efficiency: the buildings have earned several energy classes, improving the property value and significantly reducing management costs.
- Acoustic Comfort: rigorous tests conducted during the project guarantee optimal insulation not only from external noise but also between apartments. The tranquility of the interiors is now a key strength.
A New Standard of Housing Quality
The intervention on Meridiana 2 brought about significant renewal, not only in terms of energy efficiency but also aesthetically. The balconies, once made of deteriorated wood, were replaced with a modern aluminum design, the same color as the new metalworks, creating visual harmony with the rest of the building. The loggias, now elegant and functional, overlook the private park, becoming corners of relaxation and connection with the surrounding nature. The result is a complex that combines comfort, sustainability, and elegance, enhancing the quality of living and the well-being of its residents.
